Count Watch
Every number Dallas County posts is checked against the county's own earlier numbers and the state's reports. Checks run each time the live numbers refresh (every 2 minutes) and with each daily rebuild. Public data only.
Flags are data checks, not allegations. A status other than “Matches” means two public numbers haven't lined up yet. Almost always that's ordinary: posting lag, provisional ballots, mail timing, a feed delay or reprecincting. Nothing beyond the standard statuses is posted until it has been checked against those explanations. See something wrong? Report a correction.

Daily trend
2026 against Dallas County's 2022 midterm and 2024 presidential early vote, lined up by early-voting day.
Cumulative votes
2022 and 2024 are Dallas County's final daily figures. 2026's latest day comes straight from the county's live counter, and the day before it from the county's running total. Earlier 2026 days fill in from snapshots this page saves in your browser each time it's opened (see About).
Votes per day
Day 7 is the Sunday (shorter hours) in every cycle. A 2026 bar marked “so far” is today's count while voting is still under way.
Forecast
Dallas County Republican outlook: modeled
Projected final turnout
How this works
Proprietary Cinder & Crown model from a private voter database matched against public voter rolls, informed by a consensus of public forecasters. Modeled estimates, not results; ranges reflect uncertainty.
- The 80% range is where the model expects the result to land about 8 times in 10. Real results can fall outside it.
- Outlook labels come from the modeled win chance: Likely R 85%+, Lean R 65–85%, Toss-up 35–65%, Lean D 15–35%, Likely D under 15%. Every gauge uses the same 5%–75% scale.
- Shares are the Republican candidate's share of the two-party vote. “Win chance” is the model's estimated chance that the Republican finishes above 50%.
- Confidence is lower where district lines are new (congressional districts were redrawn in 2025) or where data is thin. Districts that cross the county line show the Dallas County portion only.
- This is a fixed snapshot taken during the first day of early voting. It isn't updated automatically, and early-vote numbers above it are live.
- Public sources used on this page: Dallas County Elections' live vote-center feed and official sample ballots, and published 2022/2024 county results.
Turnout vs. Republican strength
Precincts are shaded by 2024 Trump share of the two-party presidential vote. Each early-voting center gets the precincts closest to it. Circles are sized by 2026 early votes and filled by the R share of those surrounding precincts. A thick dashed black ring means an R-strong area is lagging its 2024 pace.

Races on the ballot

Ballot measures
Candidates: Dallas County Elections official sample ballots for the Nov 3, 2026 General & Joint Election (all ballot styles, hosted by the county on Clarity Elections; each card links the exact PDF). Look up your own ballot at dallascountyvotes.org/voters/ballot. Uncontested races (the “Vote for All” block) aren't listed. Baseline = Republican share of the two-party vote for President 2024 and Governor 2022 in the precincts inside the district's 2026 lines (Dallas County part only). EV pace = estimated 2026 in-person early votes in the district ÷ the same estimate for 2024 through the same EV day. See About for the method.

Transparency
These figures compare official public reports with each other. Differences usually come from reporting schedules and are resolved as files post.
Aggregate counts from public official sources only. This panel reports how complete and timely the official data is; it does not report on any voter, center or official. “Needs review” means two official reports don't agree yet, not that anything is wrong. Updated with each rebuild; the live checks are in Count Watch.

What is and isn't modeled
- Modeled (estimates): the forecast shares, ranges, win chances, outlook labels and projected final turnout.
- Not modeled (shown as posted): live check-ins, today's counts, wait times, state totals, mail ballots returned, election night results, write-in tallies and every Count Watch check.
- How the model works is proprietary. Its outputs, run times and track record are published here.
Track record
- Not available.

Corrections policy
- Email info@cinderandcrown.com with the number, where you saw it and the official source.
- We check it against the source. Confirmed errors are fixed and listed in the change log with the date.
- Count Watch statuses are data checks, not allegations. Notes beyond the standard statuses are posted only after they've been checked against the ordinary explanations.
About the numbers
- Live source: Dallas County Elections' public vote-center layer (Vote Center Finder), relayed through this site's short-lived cache (refreshed at most every 2 minutes; if the relay is down, your browser queries the county directly):
Vote_Center_Finder_view/FeatureServer/4, early-voting centers only (codes starting with “E”). Fields used: Total Votes, Daily Total, Wait Time, name, address, city, ISD, location. - What's counted: in-person early votes only. Mail ballots aren't in this feed and aren't counted here. The county calls these figures unofficial.
- 2022 / 2024 comparison: Dallas County Elections “Early Voting Turnout by Date & Location” reports: 2022 General (Oct 24–Nov 4, 2022; 391,328 in-person EV) and 2024 General (Oct 21–Nov 1, 2024; 633,142 in-person EV). Per-center 2024 finals come from the county's Nov 2024 vote-center volume table (matched by center code; centers new in 2026 show “—”). Days are lined up by EV day number. If it's mid-day today, today's 2026 number is compared against a full prior-cycle day, so it'll look low until polls close.
- Daily history: the county feed only gives a running total and today's count, not past days. Each time you open this page it saves a snapshot in this browser (localStorage), and those snapshots fill in the 2026 chart. If you skip a day, that day still gets filled in from the next day's numbers (total minus today's count = previous day's cumulative). The history lives on your device only. Clearing browser data or switching devices starts it over.
- Forecast, win chances and gauges: produced by a proprietary model from a private voter database matched against public voter rolls, informed by a consensus of public forecasters. They are modeled estimates, not results; ranges show uncertainty, and the Forecast panel shows when the model was last run. Methods and data are proprietary.
- Heat map and Races, sources: past Dallas County results by precinct from OpenElections Texas (compiled from the county's official canvass); precinct and district boundaries from Dallas County GIS; offices, candidates and parties exactly as printed on Dallas County Elections' official sample ballots for the Nov 3, 2026 General & Joint Election (each race card links one). Area and district figures are approximate estimates, not counts. Any registered voter can use any early-voting center in the county.
- Timestamps come from each source's last data update and are shown in Central Time (CT). No visitor data is stored on a server and the page uses no API keys. This site may count visits in aggregate, without cookies. See Privacy.
